Structural Steelwork

To complement our fabrication capabilities we offer a steelwork installation service. Our experienced crews are capable of erecting large complex structures but are equally happy to work on more modest projects such as the installation small access platforms, pipe hop-overs or even pipe supports.

All of our steelwork undergoes a 7 step galvanising process to ensure complete corrosion protection is achieved. For particularly aggressive enclosed environments we can offer to have the steel scotchkoated to offer a higher level of protection.

Where possible our structures are test erected in the fabrication yard prior to galvanising, this identifies any potential assembly issues which can be dealt with immediatly. This minimises the requirement for on site modifications which might otherwise compromise the corrosion protection system. It also makes for a smoother installation phase on site allowing the project to progress rapidly to the next phase.

Despite test erecting structure in the fabrication yard, on site conditions beyond our control do not always alow straightforward installation. Our operatives have adopted a method of working that promotes problem solving on site and sees the timely completion of structures whether they be large or small.

Where we require mechanical lifting we employ the services of an Appointed Person to survey the job and formulate the Lifting Plan. We use our Crane Supervisors to oversee the lifting works.  All high level access work is carried out from purpose built scaffolds or from Mobile Elevating Work Platforms for which all of our site personnel have received the appropriate training.
